WCSPOS Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 11, 2026

Wild Child Studio Co operates WCSPOS, a point-of-sale app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains how the current WCSPOS app handles information. It covers the app; visiting this website also involves Shopify's website services.

Information used by the app

WCSPOS uses product names, variant identifiers, SKUs, barcodes, prices, inventory quantities, cart items, payment references, and transaction status to support product search and checkout. Favorites are stored on your device. Cart and transaction history are maintained during the current app session.

If you configure a connection, the app stores the Shopify store domain, access token and location identifier, and any Clover app identifier, merchant identifier, access token and reader name you enter in Apple's device Keychain. These settings support your chosen store connection. Versions with iCloud Keychain syncing mark saved Shopify and Clover details and the saved remote-support pairing code for syncing across devices approved on the same Apple Account, when iCloud Passwords & Keychain is enabled. Apple manages that encrypted syncing. The app does not publish these credentials or include them in its downloaded binary. Do not share access tokens or pairing codes with others.

Camera and barcode scanning

The app requests camera permission to scan barcodes. Camera images are processed on the device to identify barcode values. WCSPOS does not save or upload the camera images. A scanned barcode may be sent to your configured Shopify store to find the corresponding product. You can decline or revoke camera access in your device's Settings and enter a barcode or search term manually.

Shopify connections and orders

When a Shopify connection is configured, WCSPOS sends authenticated requests directly to that store's Shopify API for store checks and product searches. Outside Test Mode, a cash checkout can send product identifiers, quantities, order totals, payment references and transaction information to Shopify to create a paid order and update inventory. The current app's order creation does not ask for a customer's name, email, address or card details.

Shopify processes requests and order records through its own services. Network requests also expose ordinary connection information, such as an IP address, to the receiving service. Shopify's privacy information is available at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy. Access to store records is controlled by the merchant's Shopify permissions.

Test Mode and payments

Test Mode simulates checkout and payment outcomes. Simulated checkout does not charge a card or create a real Shopify order. A configured Shopify connection can still be used for product searches. Without a configured connection, the app uses a demo product catalog.

Live Clover card-payment processing is not implemented in this version. The current WCSPOS payment flow does not collect card numbers, security codes or bank-account details. Entering Clover settings does not enable real reader payments.

Use and sharing

Information is used to provide the app's product lookup, cart, checkout, settings and testing features, and to respond to support requests. WCSPOS does not include an advertising or cross-app tracking feature. Wild Child Studio Co does not sell personal information received through WCSPOS. Store requests and records are shared with Shopify as described above; we do not operate a separate WCSPOS server for these requests.

If you email us, we receive the information you include, such as your email address and support details. Do not send access tokens, passwords or payment-card information. Apple separately handles App Store and TestFlight distribution and any diagnostics or feedback you choose to share through Apple's services, under Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

Optional remote support

You can start a paired support session with your own Mac on the same local network. The app sends request metadata, sanitized error summaries, product identifiers, product names and prices, and test-cart state through an encrypted, certificate-pinned connection to the Mac support host. Credential values, customer records, card data, camera images and transaction history are excluded from support diagnostics. The paired operator can run read-only connection tests and product searches and change a cart only in Test Mode. Support cannot create real orders, process payments, change credentials or enable Live Mode.

The host keeps commands and results in memory: commands expire after 30 seconds, results after five minutes, and idle device session records after one hour. Stopping the host clears that memory. Support pauses when the app enters the background and reconnects when you return during the original one-hour session; Stop ends the session. Saved pairing credentials remain in Keychain until removed. If you choose to share diagnostic results with a support person or AI service, that recipient handles them under its own privacy terms.

Retention and your choices

Saved connection settings remain in Keychain until you use the app's Disconnect controls to remove them. In syncing versions, Disconnect removes the saved connection entries on your other synced devices too. Forget Mac on all devices removes the saved support pairing entry. Removing a pairing entry does not revoke the Mac host's credential; to revoke all paired devices, stop the host and rotate its pairing credentials. Uninstalling the app alone may not remove Keychain entries. Favorites remain in local app storage until removed or the app's local data is deleted. Session cart and transaction history are not a permanent transaction archive.

Disconnecting the app does not delete orders already created in Shopify. Those records remain subject to the merchant's Shopify settings and recordkeeping needs. Contact the relevant store operator about store records. You can also revoke a Shopify access token through the store's administration tools.

For information you send directly to Wild Child Studio Co, contact us to request access, correction or deletion. We retain support correspondence as needed to address the request and any applicable recordkeeping obligations, then delete it when no longer needed. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Children and policy updates

WCSPOS is intended for merchant point-of-sale operations and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. Contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information.

We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and show the new effective date here.
